Issue

If you have Lasso Studio installed, GoLive crashes on launch after installing MenuMachine 2.

Solution

There is a serious problem with the way GoLive loads shared dynamic libraries, such as the ones used by Lasso Studio and MenuMachine 2. If more than one extension calls into a shared dynamic library, as both MenuMachine 2 and Lasso Studio do at startup, GoLive crashes.

This is due to a fundamental flaw in the GoLive extensibility system which we only became aware of after the release of MenuMachine 2. It is not caused by a bug in either MenuMachine 2 or Lasso Studio.

This is an Adobe bug and at this stage neither we nor OmniPilot can fix the problem. Adobe is aware of the issue but does not have a fix at this time.

This means that it is impossible to have Lasso Studio and MenuMachine 2 installed at the same time. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about this. The only workaround is to disable one of the extensions when you want to use the other extension.

To disable MenuMachine 2 without actually uninstalling its files:

  1. Open the GoLive Preferences pane.
  2. In the list on the left, select Modules.
  3. On the right, scroll down to see the list of Extend Scripts in the Extend Scripts folder.
  4. Uncheck the extend script called MenuMachine2.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Restart GoLive. MenuMachine 2 will be disabled.

To use MenuMachine again, check MenuMachine2 in the Extend Scripts group and then restart GoLive.
