Category: Installation
MenuMachine 2 is not installed after running the installer.
Use this checklist to diagnose the problem:
1. Did you run the latest MenuMachine 2 installer?
Before installing MenuMachine 2, download a new copy of the installer to ensure you are using the latest version.
Download the latest installer here:
http://www.menumachine.com/download/
2. Have you installed MenuMachine 2 into the version of GoLive you are currently running?
When you run the MenuMachine 2 installer, it will automatically locate the most recent version of GoLive you have on your computer and install MenuMachine 2 there.
If you have more than one copy of GoLive on your computer, you may have installed MenuMachine 2 into a different copy or version to the one you are currently running.
The MenuMachine 2 installer now includes a screen where you can check or change the version of GoLive where MenuMachine 2 will be installed.
In the image below, GoLive 9 was the latest version found so MenuMachine will be installed into the Adobe GoLive 9 folder.
If your copy of GoLive does not have MenuMachine 2 installed, or you want to install into another copy of GoLive, run the latest MenuMachine 2 installer again and use the Browse button to choose the correct copy of the GoLive application.

3. Have you recently upgraded your version of GoLive?
If you installed MenuMachine 2 before you upgraded GoLive, MenuMachine 2 will not automatically be available in your new version of GoLive. When a new version of GoLive is installed, it does not carry over any third-party Extensions (such as MenuMachine) or Actions from your old version of GoLive.
You need to install MenuMachine 2 into the new version of GoLive by running the MenuMachine 2 installer. Don't try to copy MenuMachine 2 across to the new version of GoLive. You should only install MenuMachine 2 by running the installer.
Similarly, if you have more than one copy of GoLive on your computer, you must install into every copy of GoLive in which you want to use MenuMachine 2. Installing into one copy of GoLive does not make MenuMachine available to all copies or versions of GoLive on your computer.
Note: You may be able to copy your old third-party actions across from GoLive CS to CS2 or re-download them and install them into the new version of GoLive. Some Actions and Extensions are no longer compatible with GoLive 9 so you need to check with the vendor for details. MenuMachine 2 is compatible with GoLive 9 but you must use the latest installer. See step 1.
4. Did you enter your registration details for MenuMachine 2 when you launched GoLive?
After running the installer, you may be asked to register MenuMachine 2. You need to use the correct Name and Serial Number combination. This combination is case sensitive.
If you do not enter the registration details correctly, MenuMachine will not work.

You can get these details from your original email containing the MenuMachine 2 serial number. If you have lost this email, you can retrieve the details here:
http://www.menumachine.com/serial/lostserial.php
When you register correctly, you will see this screen:

5. Is the Extend Script module enabled in the GoLive preferences?
The Extend Script module allows GoLive to load extensions such as MenuMachine. If this module is not enabled, MenuMachine will not load.
Open the GoLive Preferences > Modules section > Modules set.
Make sure the Extend Script Module is enabled.
If it is not enabled, check it, press the OK button to save the changes then restart GoLive.

6. Is MenuMachine 2 installed in the copy of GoLive which is currently running?
To check whether MenuMachine 2 has been installed in this copy of GoLive, you can see if the MenuMachine2 Extend Script is turned on.
Open the GoLive Preferences > Modules section > Extend Scripts set.
(This is the same window as in step 4. but you need to scroll down to Extend Scripts.)

If the MenuMachine2 Extend Script is visible and enabled, MenuMachine 2 is installed.
If you can see the MenuMachine Extend Script, this indicates that MenuMachine 1 is installed. You may have both MenuMachine 1 and MenuMachine 2 installed in the same copy of GoLive. If you only have the MenuMachine Extend script, MenuMachine 2 has not been installed. Refer to step 2.
7. Check that the MenuMachine 2 interface is available.
If you have the MenuMachine menu in the GoLive menu bar and you can use the Open MenuMachine Palette… command, then MenuMachine 2 is installed.

If Open MenuMachine Palette… is visible but is grayed out, the MenuMachine 2 Objects Palette is already open. Use the Window > MenuMachine Objects command to bring the MenuMachine 2 Objects Palette to the front to use MenuMachine 2.
If you have been using MenuMachine 1 and are new to MenuMachine 2, you may be looking for a new MenuMachine 2 object in the GoLive Objects panel.
MenuMachine 2 has new palettes and does not install a menu object in GoLive's Object Palette.
If you are new to MenuMachine 2, download the MenuMachine 2 User guide here:
http://www.menumachine.com/docs/
8. Turn off the GoLive Welcome Screen to allow MenuMachine to initialize.
If you can see the MenuMachine menu item in the GoLive menu bar, but it seems inactive, the GoLive Welcome Screen may still be open. The MenuMachine extension can't load until the GoLive Welcome screen has been dismissed. We recommend disabling the Welcome Screen in the GoLive Preferences. For instructions see Article 000127.
9. Still not working?
If you have checked all of the above and still cannot use MenuMachine 2, please contact support and mention which item on this checklist is not working:
