Issue

Sometimes you might want to make your submenus open upwards from the main menu. Or you may want them to appear in a different position. Here's how to move submenus so they appear where you want them.

Solution

You can move submenu blocks around in the Menu Editor. They will open in the position you place them.

Switch to Block Mode and use the hand tool to drag a submenu block into any position.

If you are in Item Mode, and want to move a block without switching to Block Mode, you can use this handy Keyboard Shortcut: Press Command (Mac) or Control (Windows) when you click on an item to be able to drag the whole block.

To move a block even more precisely, you can use the Nudge Arrows which are visible in the lower right corner of the editing area when you are in Block Mode. Select a block and click on a Nudge Arrow to move the block in that direction by 1 pixel. Hold down the Shift key when using the Nudge Arrows to move the block by 5 pixels.

You can make the submenus appear to open upwards if you place the submenu blocks above the top-level menu.

TIP: If there is not enough space above the main menu to see where you are placing the submenu, you can drag the top-level menu down in the editor. This does not affect the placement of your menu on any of your web pages.
