Variable opacity is not working in IE 6 for Windows (MM2)

Menu blocks that are set to be translucent using the variable opacity option are not showing as transparent in Internet Explorer 6 for Windows

Solution

There are two things that can cause this:

1. You are using transparent PNG images in the menu block. Internet Explorer 6 cannot support both transparent PNGs and variable opacity in the menu simultaneously.

2. You have no background color set for the menu block. Due to the way opacity works in IE, elements that have no background color cannot be made transparent. You must assign a background color to the menu block.
