Debugger Message - buildDrawPort is undefined (MM1)

Article Applies To:

MenuMachine 1 only

GoLive 6, CS, CS2

Mac, Windows

Article ID: 000039

Category: Crashes or Errors

Issue

The complete debugger error dialog appears as follows upon application startup:

Script error: buildDrawPort is undefined
In Module: MenuMachine
At line: buildDrawPort(box.root,control);

Solution

This error occurs if you have opened the page before opening GoLive (e.g. double-clicked on a file to open it before GoLive was launched).

MenuMachine 1 initializes while GoLive is starting up. If a page containing a menu opens before MenuMachine 1 is loaded, it has this error.

If you have been able to successfully edit the menu in a previous session, then saved and closed the page, MenuMachine 1 is working.

If you open GoLive, then the .site and then the page (in that order) MenuMachine 1 should function correctly.

You should not edit the page without the site open anyway so it's good practise to open the .site before the page anyway.
