Issue

The menu looks correct in the menu editor and in the menu preview but when it is placed in the page the menu displays smaller or larger than it should.

Solution

MenuMachine 2 can create menus that use relative sizing — this means that they will automatically resize based on the browser's font size settings.

However, it also means that they are affected by font sizes set in CSS that are applied to the elements the menu is placed into.

If you drag a menu object into a container (such as a table or layer) which has a relative size setting, this will apply to the menu, making the menu text size and the whole menu bigger or smaller.

You have two options:

  1. Change a menu setting to prevent the menu from resizing.

  2. Open your menu in the MenuMachine 2 Editor.

Switch to Global mode. Go to the Accessibility tab and uncheck Use relative font sizing for menus. This sets the menu to a fixed size in pixels.

This will also prevent the menu from resizing if the user changes their font viewing size in their browser.

    or

  3. Remove the CSS font-size applied to the element containing the menu.
