Issue

A variety of different problems may be caused by a corrupt GoLive preferences file.

Deleting the preferences file often solves many issues.

GoLive automatically generates a new preferences file the next time you launch it.

Solution

To delete the GoLive Preference files:

1. Quit all copies of GoLive;

THEN

2. Windows:

Locate these files:

Adobe GoLive 6.prf (GoLive 6); and/or
Adobe GoLive 7.prf (GoLive CS) and/or
Adobe GoLive 8.prf (GoLive CS2) and/or
Adobe GoLive 9.prf (GoLive 9)

and delete all files if you have them.

On Windows XP, this will usually be

C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe GoLive\Adobe GoLive X.prf
The folder "Application Data" might be hidden, in which case you may need to turn on the viewing of invisible folders in Tools > Folder Options > View in Windows Explorer.

THEN

When you re-launch GoLive you will have to enter the MenuMachine serial number again.

Once GoLive has launched, you must quit GoLive to ensure the preferences are saved.

The next time you launch GoLive you should not be asked for the MenuMachine serial number.

OR

2. Macintosh (Mac OS X):

Open the folder

/Users/Your user name/Library/Preferences
You should then delete the file(s):

Adobe GoLive 6 prefs (GoLive 6); and/or
Adobe GoLive 7 prefs (GoLive CS) and/or
Adobe GoLive 8 prefs (GoLive CS2) and/or
Adobe GoLive 9 prefs (GoLive 9)

OR

2. Macintosh (Mac OS 9):

Locate and delete the file:

System Folder :: Preferences :: Adobe GoLive 6

THEN

3. Launch GoLive.

When you re-launch GoLive you will have to enter the MenuMachine serial number again.

4. Quit GoLive.

Once GoLive has launched and you have successfully activated MenuMachine 1, you must quit GoLive before working on any sites to ensure the preferences are saved.

5. Re-launch GoLive.
