Issue

How do I change the color and other attributes of the text that appears in the <noscript> link to my site navigation page?

Solution

The menu code in your pages includes a link to an automatically-created menu map page which includes all the links to page which appear your menu.

The link to the map page (called navigation.html) is between <noscript> tags so it can't be seen in the browser unless JavaScript is turned off. Search engines can also follow this link to index linked pages in the menu map page.

The link between the <noscript> tags says "Site Navigation" by default. This is the text which is seen if someone opens your page in a browser which does not have JavaScript enabled.

If you want to change the wording from "Site Navigation" to something else, refer to the MenuMachine 2 User Guide for instructions.

If you want to change the appearance of the link text, you can control the color and other attributes of the "Site Navigation" links by creating and editing a class style in your .css file.

If your meu was created with MenuMachine version 2.0.4 or later, your <noscript> site navigation link has a class of mm_no_js_link.

1. Open you linked CSS file (click on the staircase icon in the top-right of your page).

2. Create a New Class Style called .mm_no_js_link in your CSS.

3. You can then edit this class in the GoLive CSS editor to have any text color or other attributes you need.

To see whether you have the required code in your page, open a page that contains a MenuMachine 2 menu and switch to Source view.

Locate the menu code and this line:

<p><a class="mm_no_js_link" href="menumachine/yourmenu/navigation.html">Site Navigation</a></p>
If you do not have class="mm_no_js_link", please download the latest version of MenuMachine 2 here:

http://www.menumachine.com/download/

Once you have installed the update, you will have to remove your menu and re-place it on the page for the <noscript> tag to be updated so it has the <a class= "mm_no_js_link" attribute added to the <noscript> link.
