Is there a way to configure MenuMachine 2 to work with server-side includes or CMS? I have tried making the links absolute but it's still not working.
If you need to use the menu in a server-side include or with a CMS or other custom server-side application, you may need to enable absolute links in the MenuMachine preferences.
When you place a menu in the page, MenuMachine 2 creates several links to files and folders in the menumachine folder in the root of your site. It uses these links to load the support files and to calculate the links used in the menu relative to the page the menu appears in.
By default, these links are created as relative links, but you can change this setting so that MenuMachine writes absolute or root-relative links to the support files.
To configure this setting, go to the MenuMachine > Preferences menu, click the Advanced tab and then check the Make menu support file links absolute checkbox.
You will now need to open the page containing the menu, make a minor change in layout mode (such as adding and then deleting a space character) and then re-save the page. This will update the menu code with absolute links. Any new menus placed on the page will write absolute links to the page.
This setting is global and will change the setting for all sites that you edit.
For more information please see page 56 of the MenuMachine 2 User Guide.
Please note that you must be using MenuMachine 2.1 or later to use this option.
