Issue

If you use the Align Center button in the GoLive toolbar in GoLive CS2, the menu does not center in Internet Explorer 5 for the Mac.

GoLive CS2 creates pages with the XHTML doctype by default.

Internet Explorer 5 on the Mac is a bit picky when it comes to centering some types of CSS when the page doctype is set to XHTML.

Solution

You can center the menu by modifying your <div align="center"> tag like so:

Go to Source view and locate the tag preceding the menu code:

<div align="center">
Add some additional information (width will depend on the size of your menu, change the width value as required):

<div align="center" style="margin-left:auto; margin-right:auto; width:760px;">
This should make the layer center correctly in all browsers.
