These instructions show how to build a site from scratch.
1) Begin by opening GoLive.
2) Go to File > New Site
The GoLive site wizard will take you through the steps of creating the site.
3) The first screen of the wizard… Choose Single User and Click Next >.

4) On the second screen you have a choice of methods of creating your site.
If you are creating a brand new site, click Blank Site. Then click Next >.
(If you already have a folder which contains a web site and its supporting files, you may wish to use Import from Folder instead of Blank Site.
If so, click here for instructions.)

5) Name the site. Click Next >.

6) Choose the location of the site.

7) When you choose Finish, GoLive will open the site and you can see the automatically-created home page (index.html).
You can open this page and start working with MenuMachine.

IMPORTANT:
Read the Adobe GoLive manual before you begin creating your web pages so you know how to use the GoLive site features.
We assume you have some knowledge of working with GoLive site files before you are able to work with MenuMachine.
In particular, you should understand GoLive’s site folder structure and the importance of not altering the structure. Also, never change the location of files contained in your web site unless you are doing so from within the site when it is open in GoLive. Doing so will ruin links in your pages - the GoLive site manages this for you if you are using it properly.
To make sure your site has been created correctly, locate the GoLive site on your hard drive.
The folder structure should look like this:
| GoLive 6.x: |
|
GoLive CS: |
 |
|
 |
Do not change the folder structure or move files around inside your site UNLESS you are doing so in GoLive with the .site file open.
The .site file keeps track of changes within the site and can only be updated when the changes (adding/deleting/editing files) are made inside GoLive. Changes made outside GoLive may cause links to break and other serious problems.
MenuMachine requires that the .site file is open in GoLive and up-to-date. If you do need to make any changes outside of GoLive, such as adding files to the site, make sure when you next look at the site in GoLive, click in the left pane of the site window and use the Refresh View button in the GoLive toolbar to update the .site.
