Previewing your first multi-level menu

Once you have saved your file into a GoLive site, you are ready to preview it in a browser.

The easiest way to preview pages in various browsers as you work in GoLive is to use the Preview in browser button found in the GoLive toolbar.

You can add multiple browsers to the drop-down list under this button. Click and hold the Preview in browser button and then choose Edit… from the drop-down list. The preferences pane for Browsers will appear.

Most browsers you have installed can be found automatically using the Find All button but others such as Safari may need to be located on your computer manually. You can browse your hard drive for any other installed browsers by using the Add button.

You can select and tick which browser you would like to be the default browser and its icon will show as the Preview in browser button icon.

Once you have setup the Preview in browser button, use it to test a page in the browsers of your choice.

There are two ways to Preview a page in a browser from within GoLive. You can either click on a page in the site window, then click on the Preview in browser button, or if you have a page open and in the foreground in GoLive, click on the Preview in browser button. In either case, if you want to preview in a browser that is NOT the default browser, click and hold the button to choose a browser from the drop-down list of browsers.

If you have been following the first menu tutorial, use the Preview in browser button to preview your first menu. It should look like the menu below. Rollover the menus to see the submenus drop down.
