You can start to change the appearance of the menu items in the Edit Tab.
In this tab you can change the background and font colors in both Normal and Over states, and use images for the menu items instead of text, the size of the menu items, add links to the menu items and change the background to transparent.
- To change the colors of the a menu item, select the menu and go to the Edit Tab of the MenuMachine Inspector.
- At the bottom of the Edit Tab you can see four color wells.
These control the Background Color in Normal and Over states and
Font Color in Normal and Over states.
- Select the menu item you want to change in the tree view area.
Select the correct well you wish to change (the border of the selected color well will change slightly).
You can use the GoLive Color palette to select a color and the selected well will change dynamically.
Note: The Use transparent menu background option turns off the background and border of the currently selected menu item. It is designed specifically for use with transparent GIF or PNG images where you might not want a normal rectangular shape to the menu, although it can also be used to display plain text menus over an existing background of some sort.

In the above example, the BG Color of MenuOne is selected and the eyedropper is picking the color from the GoLive color palette.
You can also click on the small triangle in the corner of the color well to see a popup color palette with various types of color systems. The current color system is indicated with a tick.
You can see the Normal state in the Live Menu Preview area.
Click on the menu item in this area to test the Over state.
