Menu Overlap

Menu Overlap settings are in the Options tab in the MenuMachine Inspector.

If you check the Preview overlap checkbox (by default it is unchecked), you can click on the menu item displayed in the Live Menu Preview area to see the amount of overlap a submenu will have over its parent menu item.

The Live Menu Preview will be of the item that is currently selected in the Tree view in the Edit tab. You may need to go back there to select a top level menu item and adjust the top level, then go back and select a submenu item to edit items at that level.

In the animation at left, the following steps are used:

1) Select a top level menu item in the Edit tab

2) Go to the Options Tab

3) Check the Preview overlap checkbox to enable the Live Preview. Notice the black shape indicating a submenu and its overlap amount.

4) Change the First level only overlap to put space between the top level and a submenu (applies to horizontal menus only)

5) Go back to the Edit tab to choose a submenu item so we can see the overlap applied to submenus (as we have applied a different overlap to the top level)

6) Go back to the Options tab and change the Horizontal and Vertical overlap values. (Negative values can be applied but check the menu in a browser to make sure the result is what you are expecting!)

The resulting menu is shown below.
