Accurate menu display in layout view

You can adjust the way the page previews in GoLive's layout view by using a custom view. This can hide GoLive objects so these objects don't displace your menu and other page elements.

1) In the above image, GoLive displays a preview in the layout window of the top level of the current menu. This preview allows you to place the menu with a high degree of precision and gives you a good idea of how your menu will appear when viewed in a browser.

Note that the floating box placeholder is visible in the upper left and that the floating box border is larger than the menu object itself. This is to make it easy for you to manipulate the menu object.

2) If you want to preview your menu without the floating box, use the View palette to turn off floating box display. Go to Window > View and use the pull-down list to Edit Set… as shown below.

3) Make a New Set and name is something like Hide MM. Check to hide Layer Border and Layer Marker. You can choose other elements to hide if they are affecting the accuracy of the placement. When done, choose OK.

4) Choose your new set in the View palette.

5) This will make the Menu preview in Layout view very accurate, as shown below.
Change back to the Default Set if you need to move the menu so you can again see and select the outer floating box.
